Some Things I Can't Explain

If you know my family, than you know my husband, Andy.

Things Andy Loves:

Anima

Star Wars

World of Warcarft WoW(that is starting to consume his life)

Comics

Star Trek

Computers

Rock N' Roll Music (Late 60's, 70's, & 80's)

Things Andy Hates:

Anything having to do with out doors (Mowing, Swimming, Hangout)

Country Music

Me being on the computer at home, taking his presious time away from playing WoW.

You get the point that I'm trying to make.

So, the other day we were on our way to a restraunt for dinner with the boys, and he was flipping through the radio stations, when we came to one playing "You Belong to Me " by Taylor Swift.

I asked him "You know that this is Taylor Swift?"

Andy: "Yes."

Me: "And that she's a country singer?"

Andy: "It has a catchy tune. I like it!"

I really don't know what to make of this, except for that is out of the "NORM" for Andy.

Sneak Peak of String Quilt

My piles of half finished blocks....

....there's a total of 48, that now, need to be ironed

Now that they're all ironed, they need to be cut into 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" blocks.

Since my square ruler is 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" I need to cut the top and side first,....

....then adjust my ruler to the new edges at the 8 1/2" marks
....and wha-la...my finished 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" block is done....

Only 47 more blocks to go!

But, I went a head to did four of them for right now, to show you where I'm going with this....
NOW ONLY 44 MORE BLOCKS TO FINISH!

A Couple New Projects

What I have been up to the past couple of weeks.....

Time For New Windows

After living in our home for about 3 years now, I have come to the decision that we need new windows in the house. I have based me decision on the following photos.

Aparently the previous owner did NOT care that the window was not the same depth size as the window they replaced, but I think I can explain why that is in another
And, they did NOT care that the wood stain did not match.

I couldn't understand why the brackets didn't want to come off the molding, but.....

....they installed the brackets first and then stained the wood the wrong color.... Nice Job!

Have I ever told you, that I hate it when a project it not done the right way......Seriously, who screws the curtain rod into the molding around the window?

Yes people, that is stain drippings that have dried on the window.

And you probably can't tell from this picture, but these windows do NOT open. Which is most likely the reason the window depth is not the same.

I think I have made my case about wanting new windows in the house. And this bay window is just 1 of 2....the dining room bay window is the exact same way. And since there is a total of only five windows in the entire house, not counting the front door and the back door, I could not "open up the house" and air it out during the cooler days of spring or fall.

Hummm...what will it be?

I haven't been in touch with the real blog world for awhile, because I've been working with these fabrics.

Back 2 Routine

It's back to school time. Yes, I know my boys are not old enough for school, but the daycare that they attend is ran that way....the day care provider even gave the parents a supply list for the kids. The boys love to COLOR!

So back to school means mommies back DELICIOUS cupcakes.

Everything taste better when their in funny colors. (I use Pilsbury: Classic White Cake Mix & use only the egg whites.)

All the kids loved the cupcakes...there were NONE left over.
